vanalli
Is there any way to pay money from Thailand into an account in England??? Will the Thai banks here do that, or is there another way without facing excessive charges??? Thanks.
jayenram
You can transfer money from a Thai bank account to a bank account in England. However, as there is a restriction on the amount of Thai currency that can be legally taken out of Thailand, the bank will convert the Thai Bht to Sterling (or whatever) prior to sending. Secondly, the Thai banks appear to have restricted the amount transferrable to less than Bht 1,000,000.00 per transaction, unless a specific reason for the transfer can be proved with a mass of paperwork. The above is based upon my experience with the Bangkok Bank.
allane
I have used Bangkok Bank many times, though not in the last couple of years. They charged 400 baht for electronic transfer. With time zone differences, bank's business hours etc. the money was in my home country in a couple of days.
