RTP to take legal action against brothel owners in Udonthani Province

UDONTHANI, 31 Jan 2015, (NNT) - Police Commissioner General Somyod Phompanmuang and his special task force have raided a brothel in Udonthani Province, arresting 32 illegal Laotian escorts and a manager.

The operation was conducted on the night of January 28th after officials received a tip-off from residents about the brothel operating in Muang Udonthani Municipality.

Police General Somyod commented that the owner didn't do much to hide the operation as the exterior and interior design of the establishment spelt out its obvious intentions. He explained that part of the building was allotted as living quarters for the service women.

The Commissioner General vowed to bring everyone involved in the operation to justice without exception or leniency, assigning officials to pursue prosecutions.

He said the case will be forwarded to the Police Inspector General for further investigation, saying punishment will be taken against officials who may be connected to the brothel.

Obviously, failed to keep up the payments!

"He said the case will be forwarded to the Police Inspector General for further investigation, saying punishment will be taken against officials who may be connected to the brothel."

Or there is an internal dislike between some RTP officers...........who knows?.....

He had to go personally?

Another window dressing stunt.

RTP to take legal action against brothel owners in Udonthani Province

Is it just me wondering or what does the police have to do to take "legal action" against an illegal brothel in a country where prostitision is illegal and most probably human trafficking is ongoing as all the hookers are from Lao? Ask the current government if it is ok to prosecute? What a joke, Thailand never fails to amaze all of us. What is most amazing is that this is newsworthy. Unless of course the brothel is a yellow not red business.

But hey...does anyone have the grid coordinates would like to check this scandal out in person!!!

Relax lads.

A careful reading of the post suggests that the bib's were more concerned with the exterior presentation aesthetics than any hard core rock and roll.

I suggest that these police are on a beatification drive of sorts.

In future, the reception area and drinks pavilion will offer a more family-oriented restaurant approach in an effort to draw a wider range of clientele.

Just be careful you don't roll up there with the missus while the Miss is preparing her kitty for the evening trade.

No they stated that had paid the "required" amount every month...159,000 baht per premises. To the different 22 state agencies.

I think it might be more to do with the fact it was Lao women working.

I did not see prostitution on the list of occupations that foreigners could not work as.

Guess they did not have work permits!

I think more to the point is... it took a special task force from or assigned by Bangkok to bust this place, whatever it is.

Obviously, that would seem to mean that this same place was operating just fine for who knows how long under the watchful eyes of the regular Udon Thani RTP folks. Obviously, just doing their part to spread happiness. wink.png

HMMM. er what this means for the bars in Udon thani who clearly have escorts working there

I guess if you pay the right amount of Tea Money you can run a pleasure bar cum massage parlor, or is it licensed to sell the girls short time or all night .It gets rather confusing for me since I have not gone short time since 1968 in Nakorn sawan province. Sixty baht was enough for a massage with a happy ending back then and the girls wore very skimpy clothes or sometimes see through negligees...When did it all lose its flavor for me? LOL

any female with pulse and blood pressure that can STAY awake is stiff competition for thai hookers.

Spoken like a man who has made numerous poor bar fine decisions smile.png

LOL excellent commentary.

the reality is they are not there because they like sex or are proficient in it but because they like money and may not like the responsibility entailed of a normal(non sex worker) occupation. another reality is the brain is connected to the (vernacular deleted) and if the brain is suboptimal in function so will the other connected body parts.

Some posts, along with their quoted replies, have been removed as one of the forum rules is to not discuss the specifics of prostitution.

Thus, please don't share your personal experiences with prostitution on the forums here.

In saying that, discussion of the article is of course fine, but discussing the specifics* of prostitution aren't :)

* Specifics would relate to comments which give information like the location, prices or services rendered (As well as anything else which is deemed too specific).

Went to our local Karaoke Saturday night for our usual after dinner beers. All the Lao girls were missing. The only customers in the place were the four of us, and one couple. There were 3 ladyboy employees. I lost count of the amount of customers who came saw there were no girls and no one in the place and they left. This included groups of men and women who came. A lot of money was lost by the owners that night. I wonder how long the crackdown will last?

Och so now there are no more hookers in Thailand ?

Don't worry, it's the non-Thai or underage hookers they're after. The Thai ones can work as normal.

Just wait until the Asian community opens up its borders to any other Asian country.

The Laotian and cambodian girls will be here in the hundreds.

Can't wait.

Massage or bar/karaoke work are not jobs that will be open to ASEAN members; or prostitution for that matter!
