prospero
Can anyone recommend an orthopedist in the Pattaya area that is not connected with Bangkok Pattaya Hospital?
prk888
just this minute returned from seeing my excellent orthopedist, a Dr Pratya, who has operated (keyhole) and otherwise attended to my shoulder issues for some time now. Caring, experienced and professional. Certainly does not overcharge (today was 15 minutes and ultrasounds on both shoulders at B880). Am now unfortunately arranging another keyhole jobbee on my other shoulder. But Mr Prospero please don't waste your time seeing this excellent Dr. because he works at BPH. Langsuan Man
DR. DANAI PANDAENG at Pattaya International Hospital http://www.pih-inter.com/find-doctor.html
Langsuan Man
Similar to my experience at BPH. Doctor had no more than finished his diagnoses and he was already scheduling surgery for a non life threatening injury. Am always suspicious of doctors whose first course of action is to start cutting without exploring other options
watcharacters
BPH, whilst staffed by many skilled specialist, has a questionable reputation concerning diagnosis and cost of treatment. I have direct experience with this: Allergic rhinitis was diagnosed as a pre-cancerous growths in all sinus cavities. The prognosis was that, without immediate 265,000.00 Baht surgery, I would develop cancer. My BS alarm went off, so I saw an ENT at CM Ram. He ordered a Cat Scan - which showed all sinus free of growths. The treatment? Antihistamine, antibiotics, and nasal spay. : A second opinion or even third is never a bad idea.

Am always suspicious of doctors whose first course of action is to start cutting without exploring other options I don't blame you for feeling suspicious but my experience was a slightly different. i went into BPH with a toe infection which was not getting better with prescription meds. I saw the doctor for around 5 minutes and he simply said in his opinion the infection would not go away with excising a part of my toe nail. I asked him what the time frame would be and he said "right now". I walked out to reception and afterwards he did it in a surgical room. Painless and with totally successful results I still have faith in that hospital until I have experienced otherwise.
