Biggest vegetable or fruit you've grown

Featured Replies

Since there's a few here that enjoy their gardening, thought I'd see if any have grown any monster size fruit or vegetables.

Here's a pic of a cucumber out of our garden, it is 50cm long, 7.5cm across. The wine bottle is a standard size bottle.

Anyone beat that?

Papaya, from a 10m, 6 y.o. tree. Over the time we harvested a few 100 kg from this tree alone...

In the end, the wife was going up a 6m ladder climbing the last meters to get the fruits, it became increasingly

dangerous to pick them, so i wasn't that sad when it finally died... still miss the delicious, sweet Papayas.

We tried to plant other Papaya trees, but after they reached about 1.5- 2m they died off from some root disease.

I bet the Mrs was impressed.
