webfact Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Gun drama as Phuket govt team visits beach clubNattha ThepbamrungNot happy. Jakkapong with his gun.PHUKET: -- A worker was arrested yesterday (February 5) for possession of a gun and ammunition, along with crystal meth paraphernalia when the Navy and Vice-Governor Somkiet Sangkhaosuthirak made a surprise visit to Nui Beach, below the Karon View Point. The visit came following complaints from local people that staff of the Nui Bay Member Club had barred them from walking to the beach unless they paid a fee, and had fired shots to threaten them.As the investigation team arrived, Jakkapong Sawadtawee, 30, a member of the club staff, tried to get away in his car. Navy men chased him down in their own car and forced him to stop.In his car they found the Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol and the gear for smoking ice.Another 20 staff were lined up, ordered to write down their names and were given a drugs test.V/Gov Somkiet explained, “We visited this place today because of many complaints from local people about the business blocking the way to the beach and [staff] threatening people who come onto the land.“They have erected a gate and demand an access fee. The complaint from local people also alleges that they have fired shots to threaten local people who try come onto to the land.“I have been told that the land has a NorSor3kor paper [conferring occupation rights] but we will investigate to see whether the gate is built on land covered by the paper, or on forest land. If the latter, it will be removed.”The Chief of Phuket Marine Office, Puripat Theerakulpisut, who was also in the investigation team, said that the buildings of the club itself are on the beach, which is “obviously illegal”.“It is built on the sand. I will check with the municipality to see whether the building was approved or not. But in any case it must be demolished.”A team from the Phuket Land Office will measure the land to check where the border is, and what must be removed for encroaching on neighbouring state land.Source: http://www.thephuketnews.com/gun-drama-as-phuket-govt-team-visits-beach-club-50914.php-- Phuket News 2015-02-06 2

Bogan Koori Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I heard a rumour about some crazy nutcase firing shots from the beach into the air, when a recreational boat tied up to one of the moorings in the bay. I didn't actually believe it at the time but this adds weight to that rumour
monkeycountry Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Another bunch of <removed> down. When will they take on the jetski mafia on Samui/Chaweng, who not only own the entire beach (forcibly removing anyone in their way), but since last year also own the water (telling all sailing boat owners to remove their boats or else). And no, that is not a joke. 1

Popular Post Alwyn Posted February 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 6, 2015 The gate etc has been there for 20 years! I remember when the owner closed the place down over something to do with the death of a Danish girl. He must have sold on because he was not only a gent but was a high ranking Naval special forces guy, I wouldn't have thought he would tolerate a fat prick like this shooting a gun in the air. 3
wabothai Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Good !!!!! Less scum on the streets WITH GUNS !

Briggsy Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 The cop doing the important bit, lining up the bullets on the table for the photo. He will later add some Coney snacks on either side for aesthetics.
stevenl Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Good !!!!! Less scum on the streets WITH GUNS ! He's probably back on the streets already. Have you ever seen how full Thai jails are? They really love to put people away for years and years here, very unlikely he is back on the streets. But back to the story, so there is a gun, but where it the drama?
