me and my wife plan to escape the seasonal chiang mai haze for the rest of Feb and March and were hoping to temporarily move to Ko Lanta.

Most accomodation I can find seems quite expensive and is hotel based. Does anyone have recommendations for monthly rentals around 20k THB or suggestions where to look?

Boots on the ground mate. Get yourself a (somewhat)cheapy bungalow, Bee Garden Bungalows or the place across the street I think has sub-500 bungalows and then you'll need to do your own scouting from there. Best of luck with it.

There will be some Krabi property rental people that will get specific and middleman something for you, do a google search but otherwise, yea, you just need to be there.
