Surin Aircon Rooms - monthly - should I just wait to arrive ?

Featured Replies

I'll be arriving in Surin during the very hot season.

At first I'll be staying at mid price hotel.

Are there Thai Style Rooms ( in town ) with good aircon ?

Just wait ?

What do you mean by a "Thai style room with air con"?

Do you mean cheap?????

I stayed at a great place at the edge of town for about 450 a night. The whole area is cheap and I live in Isan.

Back with more info. NW side of town. Nothing is far. Martina Resort. We ate there. Thai food. We had laundry done. Everything was cheaper than I expected.

Yes,

Cheap and small is fine. Need good Aircon.

I'mm thinking 3,000 to 5,000 Bt + electric per month.

Should be easy to find for a long term stay of 6 months or more. For a shorter period, you might have to pay more.

The is a website called thaiapartments.net that cover Surin.

This may help. I have no relationship the this company BTW.

Plenty of places around in the 3,000 to 5,000 a month range.

Just be careful to check how much you are being charged per unit for electricity though. Some of these places are buying it in at around 3.5 a unit and reselling it to tenants as high as 11 or 12. Most places are reselling it for 6 or 7. This means that in the very hottest months, if you like to run your aircon 24/7 you could end up with a higher bill for electricity than your base rent is.

Yes - and thanks about the electric rates.

I've read a lot about that here on TV.

small and cold - I might be tempted anyway.
