Popular Post ExPratt Posted February 9, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 9, 2015 She put the tissue in the toilet after she had a dump on the floor ? Can't wait for the Hordes to turn up for CNY 5
Bluespunk Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Costs Entrance to the temple is free for all. Due to the disrespectful behaviour of some foreign tourists, Wat Rong Khun has recently instituted a policy requiring guides for foreign tourists visiting the the main temple building. The policy however is not always enforced. Should you wish to have a guide or be required to hire one, there are a number available at the temple itself. The fee for a guided tour with a knowledgeable guide is in the several-hundred baht range. Wonder if the guides had anything to do with the change of mind later that afternoon.

I wonder if the guides have to come with you into the toilet cubical to see if you use the facilities correctly?? And possible wash any skid marks off. 4

jaltsc Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 "According to Chinese media reports, the woman’s refusal to remove the dirty tissue and clean up the toilet was Chalermchai’s breaking point..." They should have Chinese tours of the TAT offices and see if those money grubbers have a breaking point .
harrry Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 So Budhism is racist or this is not a Budhist temple. What is the answer?
Popular Post ExPratt Posted February 9, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 9, 2015 Its the 65 years since "Liberation" by Mao , that's messed them up. Lawless country with all social intercourse destroyed by Party purges. They are brought up to look out for themselves and family and no one else. Chinese people from outside PRC are decent people If you wondered why they push in without batting an eye lid , it might be because of their Right of way traffic laws , if you were there first you have the right of way, work that one out. Horrible , Horrible country and many of the people deserve their terrible reputation 3
Popular Post JeremyBowskill Posted February 9, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 9, 2015 Quite right too, don't want the White temple turning into the sh!te temple! 3
Ozziepat Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Yes, and these are the "good" mainland Chinese: middle-class, educated, refined, etc. All relative, of course. For every seriously egregious newsworthy event such as this, there are innumerable lesser ones that are not reported. It's comforting to know they are the number one target for Thai tourist promotional dollars. And don't expect the junta to ever say anything negative about them. Wouldn't want to adversely impact any of those massive pending loans, or arms-purchase deals, or commodity trades, or... coming down the tracks from Big Brother.
SiSePuede419 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 In Mexico, it's considered polite to throw your toilet tissue in a bin outside the toilet, due to low water pressure (keeps the plumbing from clogging up). Same in Thailand? If there's no bin next to the toilet, Mexicans just throw it on the floor. I noticed the bathroom at Burger King in San Ysidro, literally just 50 meters north of the Mexican border has to put baskets next to the toilets to keep "freshies" from throwing tp on the floor, 555 1

I think hanno was referring to the line - "If these are the quality version, wonder what the riff raff are like ?"............not the toilet habits. And I think I know what he means as I am embarrassed by the antics some of my countrymen get up to when they travel overseas. 3
Basil B Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 A lot lost in translation... Tank??? Did they/he me the cistern??? 1
trogers Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Mainland China has to have Mandatory Tourist Classes, an Embarrasment... Their little Red Book has no mentions about manners. 1
NongKhaiKid Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Post #20. Yes many of us been embarrassed by our countrymen and may have caused some embarrassment ourselves but this thread is only about one particular antic. 2
harrry Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 It sounds as if they put the toilet paper in the toilet like all western countries do.
SoilSpoil Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 This temple, as beautiful as it apparently is, has racist policies. I was not allowed to enter the place without a tour guide, whereas my Thai family was more than welcome. 1
Popular Post Ricardo Posted February 9, 2015 Popular Post Posted February 9, 2015 Does that beautiful building include a Thai-version of the Sistene Cistern Chapel ? 8
thesetat2013 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Has anyone actually been to their public toilets? Are they golden? It would seem to me that the toilet that got pooped is not the same as where the average Joe goes to take a dump. Can anyone answer this?

hanno Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Mainland China has to have Mandatory Tourist Classes, an Embarrasment... And the Thai kid who added his name to the Great Wall of China? Whats the solution there? And the Canadian tourist that broke a statue here in Angkor Wat? Or the Russian that tagged the Colosseum? And then there is, of course, the Full Moon Party where <deleted> flannes from around the globe gather.
