Rimmer Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Chonburi moves to maintain enforcement of new beach-chair rules PATTAYA:--Having imposed new regulations for Pattaya beach-chair vendors, Chonburi officials now are moving to ensure they remain enforced. Deputy Governor Chawalit Saeng-Uthai chaired a Feb. 3 meeting to review the success of the new rules, which compresses beach-chair zones and wipes Pattaya and Jomtien beaches of all chairs and umbrellas every Wednesday. Chawalit said he believes the beaches are much tidier and, on Wednesdays, give boundless views that haven’t happened in Pattaya for decades. To keep things that way, the deputy governor said Chonburi has set up two inspection teams, one for Pattaya and the other for Jomtien. The teams will report violators of the regulations to the city with proposed appropriate punishments. They also will report the operational progress for Pattaya to collect information and report to the Chonburi governor. The meeting also handled 16 chair-related complaints, including allowing one vendor whose plot was flooded to relocate to a new section of beachfront. - See more at: http://www.pattayamail.com/localnews/chonburi-moves-to-maintain-enforcement-of-new-beach-chair-rules-44879#sthash.2V4kesac.dpuf -- Pattaya Mail 2015-02-13 "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!" Keesters Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Wednesday before last Jomtien still had plenty of deck chairs and umbrellas folded, stacked and chained to the trees. These were guarded by some decidedly grumpy looking locals while farang frolicked in what sand was available. Hardly a complete wipe.
bheard Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Oh what joy, to be able to frolic in the sand unencumbered.. Pity about the dirty and oily water. 1
joepattaya1961 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 My neighbor has stacked hundreds of chairs, tables and umbrella's in the front-yard.....hardly possible to recognize the home behind it.........
Godders Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 The teams will report violators of the regulations to the city with proposed appropriate punishments. Ever had your fingers trapped in a deckchair?
SEEDGER Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Just out of curiosity what would happen if a group of tourists brought there own umbrellas and chairs and put them up on the beach on Wednesday?
