LivinginKata
Feel sorry for the man, but I'm not surprised. Safety First is a priority in Thailand Think you meant to say Safety first is not a priority in Thailand. Personal safety is just not in the thinking.
Benmart
Sad to read and hopefully the man will recover without permanent injury. Seems to be a land where anyone can engage in hazardous work without proper training, equipment, insurance, etc. Perhaps, The Department of Labor Safety and Welfare (Yes, there is one) needs check into this one. It doesn't sound like a large construction/demolition project, but I wasn't there.

"Seems to be a land where anyone can engage in hazardous work without proper training, equipment, insurance, etc." I think you will find that anyone in any "land" can knock a wall down on their own property if they choose regardless of training, equipment, blah, blah, blah... This is not a phenomenon peculiar only to Thailand. Edited February 15, 2015 by Sviss Geez
