More details have emerged on the international school teacher in Thailand who sexually abused four young students aged seven to eight.

 

David Brown, a 49 year old teacher from Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear, stands accused of luring children into his office during dinner breaks for purported extra English lessons. The horrifying revelations claim that Brown engaged in sex acts with at least four different girls over an undisclosed period at the £6,600-a-year (approximately 300,000 baht) institution on the outskirts of the Thai capital.

 

The sinister acts came to light when a vigilant teacher, overhearing unsettling conversations among the girls, blew the lid off Brown’s alleged misdeeds. The arrest took place on January 24 at 6am, leaving Brown’s wife, present at the scene, horrified. He collapsed, received medical attention, and was subsequently questioned at the police station.

 

Police Colonel Jirawat Piampinseth, leading the investigation issued a statement.

“Parents of four children have filed complaints claiming that Brown took the children to his office to teach them English and then sexually abused them.”

 

The police are now delving into the duration of the purported abuse and the possibility of more victims.

Having been employed at the Siam International School since at least September 2017, Brown is now under intense scrutiny.

 

David’s wife acted as an interpreter.

 

“He has been detained in a cell at the station while the investigation continues.”

Unfortunately the teaching profession is highly coveted by pedophiles and sexual perverts since you are always in contact with children and young people. There are not a few such scandals.

I saw a Thai prison documentary, and actually most of the time the pruisoners will leave such offenders alone, unlike in the West. It's people who kill or harm their parents that get the punishment.

I agree. There a probably a lot of so called teachers who molest children. However it's not acceptable to show his face in public unpixeled. Where to stop then? Showing thieves? Or those you drive too fast? Just to protect? Rely on RTP. If guilty he will get his sentence. By court.🙏

Agree, the alleged crimes are horrendous and if he is found guilty he should get the maximum sentence, but until he is found guilty why show his face.

The reporting is pretty bad on this one, in one story he's 49 and another he's 59, both by the same author. It's important to remember these are allegations without much detail. He is in jail, pointing this out puts nobody in danger. There's not much info in the story, but an earlier one says he's confessed and been charged.

 

What's the school's role in this? It seems for years this teacher has possibly been molesting girls within school grounds during school time and it was never noticed? At the very least the need to review procedures, install CCTV, maybe even sack an administrator...

 

Several years ago an international school in Ubon employed a very well qualified teacher, without any background checks. A Google search would have revealed he'd been jailed in Indonesia for sexually assaulting students.

He is not a teacher, he is a pedophile! OMG

Conviction of sexual assault on kids should result in an automatic death penalty, no discretion by the judge or jury - mandated by law, automatic. I can't fathom why anyone should live in society, even in a jail, after committing such acts.

The British and the muslims are definitely some of the biggest nonces around.

Before the guy is lynched it might be an idea to step back and gather statements, evidence and hold a trial.  I don't trust newspaper reports.

There was a case in the UK a year or two ago where several girls collectively accused a male teacher of sexual assault - later they admitted they had lied (after almost wrecking his life).

Yes, even so it's still an alleged crime, until/if he has been found guilty he's photos and name should not have been published.

Seems guilty to found innocent prevails.

Looks like everyone here is lined up to be judge, jury, and executioner before an investigation has been completed, much less a trial. Guess people don't pack their 'western' principles of justice and a fair trial when they move overseas.  

He is how I would imagine a British pedo teacher would look like. 

When sentenced send him back to UK put him in general population prison he won't last all but a few days in there.
