Military court frees red-shirt supporter on bail

BANGKOK: -- Kris Buddeechin, the red-shirt supporter arrested for allegedly spreading fake palace announcement on social media was granted bail by the military court Tuesday after he was earlier refused a week ago.


Winyat Chartmontri, Kris' pro bono lawyer from Thai Lawyers for Human Rights Group said Kris was granted bail by the military court of Bangkok after posting Bt400,000 as bail collateral.

Now 26 to broadcast live Chinese New Year Celebration from Beijing

BANGKOK: -- Now 26 terrestrial digital TV will cooperate with China Central Television to broadcast live Chinese New Year celebration or the Spring Festival Gala 2015 from Beijing Wednesday evening.

Petrol prices to rise Wednesday

BANGKOK: -- The PTT Plc and Bangchak Petroleum Plc will increase their retail petrol prices by 60 satang, except Gasohol E85 petrol that will see the price increased by 40 satang.


The increase will start at 5 am Wednesday. The new price of Octane 95 premium petrol will be Bt35.66 per litre, Gasohol 95 petrol Bt29.10, Gasohol 91 petrol Bt27.78 , Gasohol E20 petrol Bt26.38 and Gasohol E85 Bt23.08. The diesel oil price after the increase will be Bt26.79 per litre.

Fake palace announcement suspect freed on bail by the military court

BANGKOK: -- A member of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship arrested for allegedly posting a fake Palace announcement about His Majesty the King’s health has been released on bail by the Military Court.

Mr Winyat Chartmontri, secretary –general of Volunteer Lawyers for Human Rights, said Tuesday that he posted 400,000 baht in cash as a bail for the temporary release of the suspect, Mr Krit Bootdeejine, who has been detained for more than a week.

Having considered the case and the fact that there was no rejection against the request for release of the suspect from the inquiry officers, the military court then granted Mr Krit temporary release on bail.

Mr Krit earlier told the court that he didn’t know the announcement of the Bureau of the Royal Household as a fake.
