Insurance in Phuket

If a Somchai cart smashes into my pickup in Phuket. Who pays the bill? How does accidents and insurance companies work in Phuket. What happens with the Bib also?

Somchai has zero insurance because those carts are illegal and can't be insured.

Then it's quite possible a mob will form all pointing the finger at you, threatening violence and you'll be buying Somchai a new cart with LEDs and a microwave oven on board.

I really hate those carts. I once had a hot ember fly from the back of one and go into my sunroof then onto my lap. I fish tailed that badly from shock of it, i almost plowed into those outdoor noodle places on Chao Faa Road. I wonder how the insurance company would have dealt with that?

I just can't stand the traffic they make.

They crawl along trawling for a hungry mouth on the busiest roads with smoke billowing along with the hot embers scolding fellow motorists.

Once you overtake it and reach a light, they sneak to the front of the lights and it starts all over again.

Cholera carts.

Thai and Thai situation, lady I know signal on, making right turn, boatboy on motorbike chatting with his friend riding along side gets his head around in time to ditch the bike into the rear end of the lady I know's, car. Takes the bumper clean off.

BIB shows up, they all go off to the police station. Boatboy no insurance calls relative, they call Honda for repair quotation, relative hands over the cash for repair.
