eaglesflight
I had a search through the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer so I hope I'm not asking a question that has already been answered. I am currently on an ED visa, which I have extended 3 times for 90 days each time (at Chiang Mai immigration). I will be getting married in a couple of months' time and was planning to travel to a neighbouring country to apply for a non-imm 'o' visa based on this marriage, when I have finished my studies (in just under 90 days time). However, I have read that it is possible to extend a stay by 60 days for reasons of visiting family and I was wondering it it would be possible for me to do this on my current ED visa, even though I have already extended my stay 3 times for studying? It's not a huge issue for me to apply for a non-imm 'o' instead, just that it might make my life easier if I can leave the country 60 days later than I would otherwise have to. Many thanks for any help you can give me.
ubonjoe
You could apply for a 60 day extension to visit you new wife. She would have to go with you when you apply. You would need a letter from your school stating you are no longer attending classes effective the day you apply.

eaglesflight
Sorry - one more quick question if anybody knows. Can i just turn up for this type of extension as I would to extend a 60-day tourist visa by 30 days or do I need to queue in the morning / make an online appointment as I did with Ed visa extensions? ubonjoe
I think you may have to line up in the morning to apply for the extension. If I recall correctly from reports I have seen it is done by the same desks for long stay extensions.
