Just got back from Kota Bharu.

Minivan from Hat Yai to Sungai Kolok (counter 22) ticket is 200b, the van starts to operate at 6 am and goes every 1 hour or when the seats are full. Trip duration is around 4 hours. One stop fro toilet break. (you should tell the driver to leave you at the border or else he will take you to the downtown).

Walked across the immigration and border, then when you enter Malaysia just follow the sidewalk on the left side of the road, at the end of walkway there is a bus 29 for Kota Bharu, ticket is 5 ringit or 50 baht. The duration is around 1h 20 mins. The bus will stop at one buss station but that is not Kota Bharu, its some other city where bus stops to pick more people.

Make sure to sit on the left side of the bus since during the day right side of the bus gets so sunny and you will end up cooking whole trip like i did smile.png

When you arrive at Kota Bharu it will leave you in front of all guest houses, hotels etc..from there Thai embassy is like 1km down the road, i didn't use the taxi and it took me 20 mins to get there walking really slow. The office opens at 9 am, no need to go there before 9 am since everyone will get application at once, so no numbers etc. Make sure to have glue and pen- that will speed up you process. If you need to copy documents there is one shop that can do it across the embassy like 150m down the road, so the best is if you have everything prepared before.

I was the only person there that day, and the lady asked me few questions like what em i doing at Thailand, where do i live, how long i will stay, and she mentioned that i can't get any more visa after that one since i already have one double entry in my country.

So i have only one double entry tourist visa so far. Then she asked for 110 ringit and told me to come tomorrow at 10am to pick my passport.

Tomorrow i collected my passport at 10am, checked out from my hotel and i was ready for the trip back to Hat Yai.

The bus for Border was at 11:30am - 5 ringits.

On the border i was kinda scared they will ask for 20k baht and i had only like 11k, but the officer just asked where do i live, what em i doing on thailand, wished me good luck and thats all.

After i crossed the border, i would usually walk to the minivan counter to buy ticket, but looks like they moved that counter now, they made new minivan station(or it was there all the time but i didn't know since i used that counter close to the border)

So this time i had like 7-8 ringints left in my pocket and no use to bring them to Thailand,so just took motorbike to the station.- it turned out to be very good idea since the van station is quite far away from the border so for 5 ringints i would never hesitate again.

Arrived at Hat Yai, took local tuk tuk to my house.

Njoying some beer atm once again.

Gl to all travelers. Hope it helps. If you have questions feel free to ask.

BTW my original post was this one here,http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/802982-20-000-b-on-border/

but since i was using forum in the internet caffe i didn't know my password so i just created new account to ask about that 20k policy. If mods want they can delete that account or just leave it, its up to them, i'll make sure i have my forum password for the trip next time.

Next time you should apply in Penang, or Laos, to avoid such nonsense and inquisition.
