Bangkok bank ATM withdrawal limit

Featured Replies

Can we set the max daily withdrawal limit to as low as 500THB for bkk atm card? I am planning to give my atm card to someone else and I don't want the person to use more then 500 a day

The lowest is Bt5K. I think the default settings is Bt50K. Below is a partial quote from the Bangkok Bank website regarding daily limits for their debit card.

  • Set your daily spending limit at a level with which you are comfortable – 5,000Bt, 20,000Bt, 50,000Bt, 100,000Bt or 150,000Bt – by calling Bualuang Phone 1333

Are you asking about the ATM withdrawal limit -- or the POS (swipe and sign) shopping option? The figures Pib gives are the POS limits. The below info is for ATM withdrawals:

Daily withdrawal limit: Maximum daily withdrawal of up to 500,000Bt or you can select your own limit of either 50,000Bt, 100,000Bt, 150,000Bt, 200,000Bt or 500,000Bt – simply call Bualuang Phone 1333

You can zero out your POS limit, by going in person to the bank. Handy because the chip function only thwarts cloning in the ATM mode. A clone with just the magnetic stripe info, however, will still work in Thai POS machines.

But if an in person visit can doctor your POS number, maybe a bank visit could get you to 500bt in the ATM mode.......

(Please report back if you try this....)

Good luck withdrawing 500K baht from ATMs - a major logistical exercise in itself - but it would be good to be able to roll like that assuming you had two trustworthy Samoans to accompany you everywhere ;)
