4-man gang accused of Sexual Assault in South Pattaya, caught by Police



PATTAYA: -- The Region 2 Police Commissioner announced on Monday the arrest of 4 people wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a man and woman and the sexual assault of the female victim in South Pattaya on 22nd February.

Police Lieutenant General Tanaert announced the arrest of Khun Suchart and Khun Bunalat, both aged 20, and the arrest of two 17 year old boys who could not be named for legal reasons. The two older suspects were arrested in Nontaburi Province, close to Bangkok.

They are accused of the armed robbery of a 20 year old man and the sexual assault of his 18 year old girlfriend at the Helipad area on the Pratamnuk Mountain in the early hours of 22nd February.

Well glad they are caught, I hope they can be kept off the streets for several years.

Well it look like they gave one of the boys a whack to the head. I hope that they will get several more "whacks" before they are released, that is the only way they will learn.

The BP website carries a quote from a Police Lt. Col about this gang damaging Pattaya 's image for tourism.

Once again officialdom's only concern is the potential effect on tourist revenue, the poor girl was supposedly gang raped but what's that compared to losing money ?

Well glad they are caught, I hope they can be kept off the streets for several years.

Good on the Police for catching them. But what now? Usual "soft" punishment? Or will they be made an example of?

Well let us enjoy the fact that the RTP actually caught them ie did their job. It is too seldom that we get good news about the police here. It is difficult to believe that the social media pressure has nothing to do with the extra efficiency of the police in this instance. Grateful for small mercies....
