Mansell
Hi guys., newbie here. Do I need a Thai motorcycle license when I am returning from a week ride into Malaysia? Heading south on Sunday for a while. Thanks.
Gweiloman
Do you currently have a motorbike licence from your home country? If so, that will more than likely suffice for a week. Understand that a lot of riders here don't actually even have a licence....... also chances are that even if you show them a foreign licence, they will probably accept it. After all, the BIB is only interested in that 200 baht you have in your wallet. You will have that, right?
Smokin Joe
??? Not sure what you want to know. If you have a Thai motorcycle license it is good in Malaysia as per ASEAN agreement.
H1w4yR1da
Things may have changed since I rode down to Sepang MotoGP a few years back but besides a Thai license, you need to get the bike's green book translated into English for the Malaysian side. Make sure after passport control you get the bike checked out of Thailand. Once into Malaysia, you have to buy insurance for a few weeks and you get a temporary license sticker for the bike, basically something like BKK123.
