What's the procedure for changing schools with regard to WP. I understand my new school will need to get a new teachers licence for me in the new schools name, my existing school are quite good and will not cancel my wp immediately, therefore do i then get all the paperwork from my new school and apply for the new work permit at the same time cancelling my wp from my old school? Do i then go to immigration and they cancel my old extension of stay and give me a new stamp? Someone told me i had to go out of the country but surely this is not necessary?

While still employed at the old school, apply for a new work permit for the new school. Once the paperwork is finished, you can cancel the WP with the old school and receive the WP for the new school at the same time. The same day you go to immigration to cancel your current permission to stay and apply for a new permission to stay based on the new school.

Be sure to get the paperwork in order, especially the teaching license waiver for the new school.
