I have a couple of friends who are coming to Bangkok end of May for 3-6 months. They'd like to find room/studio/1 bed/hotel budget accom. outside the center of Bangkok, maybe over the river, near public transport or somewhere near a canal for the canal boats into the center. Could be anywhere but cost, safety, reasonable area, good accom. and transportation into the center all important. Any ideas?
