Travel Suvarnabhumi Airport to Introduce Prototype Indoor Smoking Rooms by End of July
Higher standards. The old ones didn't have the "double-door entry system, negative air pressure, and a high-efficiency ventilation system" that is now specified. There's already an outdoor one on the departures level. -

What Actually Makes You an “Old-Hand” in Asia?
Go and play with your Thai friends lol’? That one-liner says more about you than I ever could. Mocking someone for actually engaging with Thai people while living in Thailand — that’s not just lazy, it’s revealing especially in this thread... If you find local interaction laughable or beneath you, maybe it’s not me who needs to 'bore off,' but you who’s missed the entire point of being here. And as for calling me an old fossil — I’ll take that over being a bitter echo chamber of mediocrity who contributes nothing but knee-jerk snark. When you’re done sneering at those who actually learned something during their time here, feel free to show us all how it’s done. We’ll wait. -

Birds in your garden
Viang Kum Kam, (Chiang Mai, Nong Hoi Area): We've got plenty of common Mynas and Bulbuls along with some koels and a vast number of Asian Palm Swifts that come to feed on the wing in great flocks. Here's a a lineated barbet (the green one ) with what I'm told is a hoopoe and a startlingly orange visitor that showed up this morning and spent ages way up in a tree arranging its feathers for the perfect takeoff which, of course, it performed the moment I had to change the camera battery. I'm interested in doing some wildlife and bird photography and would be pleased to hear from anyone in or around Chiang Mai who could help me get up to speed. Please send me a DM if that's you.
