Not at all Ch,she is a wonderful woman, but yes, there is baggage, some i was aware of and some that has been thrown at me,ie,the fil,but i must realise too i am in Thailand, and it is her duty too take care of him, even though i may disagree,i have compromised,am i happy about it,probably no,but being able to compromise,in a marriage is a useful skill,of course you ch,probably have them in full mind control mode, running hither and thither too carry out your demands, and no doubt they do.

Not at all but by avoiding Thai women

1. With young child/ren

2. With unfunded financial imperatives

3. With family members unable to support themselves and

4. With the impression they'll receive a monthly handout

I've not had even a WHIFF of the nonsense men like you have to deal with.

I make as many mistakes as the next guy but by sticking to those basic rules of engagement, it's easy to avoid making them with Thai women.

I've no doubt whatsoever that there are some true gems out there who do have one or more of the no-nos I mentioned but why take the risk when there are so many gems who don't?

I agree you make a valid point, but not everyone can aspire to your almost Godlike ideals, you know what you are starting to sound more like ys in every post, and i thought you where better than that, but of course us mere mortal's,can never aspire to your heights.

Godlike Ideals? Nah just common sense, I'm afraid.

Sorry, but while there might be a little support on here for the plucky idiot who "gave it a whirl" with Noi the tramp-stamped nut drainer and lost it all, every last one of those comforting him will be quietly telling themselves "Thank the Lord I didn't end up like THAT".

Well ,as usual you have given us your perspective of life, and i have given mine, awash with sterotypes,of what you think you know, and to quote D.RUMSFELD

"there are things,we know we know, then there are thing's we know we don't know, then there are thing's we don't know we don't know" you do the math.

Good ideas mate,

but I'm a bald, fat, sweaty four eyed geek and I'm 60, so what do you think my chances are of getting one that fits your ideas and under 35 years old without a cash incentive?

I've been here for almost 20 years now, I have always felt that Thai people are nice and they have a high morals. AND i spent the first 10 years living in pattaya dealing with the lowest 1% of the Thai population. You have to consider that most of the Thai's we deal with make 10,000฿ and month and work 6 days a week.. and when Thai's have money they share it with their families (Americans don't share with their families like the Thai's do), I've seen and heard of poor Thai people taking in a falung and feeding him when he ran out of money, one of them was a drug addict (it was in pattaya). I mean WHO in the US would take in some immigrant SE asian drug addict and feed him.

When your nice to the Thai's and you smile alot, they are very nice back.

The reason you people have so much problems with the Thai's is you look down on them in the first place, they can tell you look down on them, so they say "that falung bastard an ah so lets screw him." Like me, I'm a guest in their country so I'm respectful.. with most of you people(im talking about the ones on this thread that are bitching)-you act like you own the place and the Thai's are here to serve you, you think your doing them such a big favor because you brought a little money here, they are getting sick of your attitude so that's why they been tightening the visa requirements. They're saying we dont need you people.

I don't understand WHY you people come here in the first place, and WHY the do you stay here if you think the Thai's are so 'bad' Id like to see you try South America, or CHINA(i was talking to an english teacher the other day about working in rural china lol) or Africa..

Again if they are so bad why do you come here and why do you stay here, your shitty attitude ruins it for the rest of us so I really wish you people would leave here and stay out.

I have been in a situation where I was out of money and had no place to stay. I got help from Thai people who had known me for about one month and were VERY poor people. They even gave me 20 baht to go get some food, it was their last money... Who in Europe would act like that? Without hesitation, give shelter, give food, give money to an almost stranger!

I am very cynical about Thailand as a country ie government and all that but 99.99% of the people here are pure gold.

Well said its the other way round , more like the 90% that _uck it up for others, same all over the world

It's the loud, corrupt, ugly, rude, selfish 10% that ruin it for the rest

I find it more than 10%

Not "Godlike ideals", but what kind of fool would want a Thai wife with 2 farang kids and a father inlaw that hates you ? BTW, where did you meet her ?

Much lower % of pure gold. Majority 18 carat.

A few gold plated.

A few completely fake.

I live in the "sticks" in Nakhon Sawan, I am accepted and respected in the village. I help out when needed. I speak Thai, getting pretty good at it but slowly. Yes, there are some gold plated wannabees and a-hole fakes but they stand out from the very friendly and good hearted crowd. So they are easy to avoid.
