Hi all I have a question or two

1. I have just finished a 60 day double entry visa

2. I have just renewed my tourist visa at surat Thani for another 30 days and it will end on 3rd of April so thy have given me a red stamp to say I must leave thailand with the date as above .

3. I asked the person who done my visa at the imagration office can I go to Laos or Malaysia and get another double entry visa

The answer I got was no!! I thought that I can get another double entry if I go to Laos

Can anyone advise me or was the immigration person just blowing smoke up my backside. The person had a right attitude from the start!!!

Maybe thy don't like Falang

What are my options !!!!

You can get another double entry tourist visa in Laos, In case you're asked, bring proof of funds like a bankbook showing money coming from abroad.

Most immigration officers would not know anything about getting visas.

You can get another 2 entry visa in Laos. In Malaysia you can only get a single entry.

I can't really show money coming from a abroad as I have it here in a thai account so maybe a statement will be ok

They are not so inquisitive, but the meaning is to prove that you don't work illegally. It may be asked or not, in your case I think it might.

Because you had already a double entry visa, even if not from the same consulate. For best results provide that in Laos.

I doubt very much this statement. I have had back to back multi entry tourist visas from march 2011 thats 4years.

I have never extended nor taken a 30 day border run.

I think thats 8 continuous visas. Time in uk about two weeks per year.

With double entry from Laos ie two month you can then get an extension at immigration for 1900bt. After that you can make your one in one out 30day and after that you can get another 30day extension for a rip off 3000bt i was informed.

Recently I was at the Jomtien office that is blamed, and 30 days extension for visa exempt entry were charged Bt 1,900.

Most likely you will go to Laos again because doing a conversion is highly unpractical and time consuming.

What is the price of another double entry visa from Lao I want the double entry as the company may be slow in sorting paper work out you know what it's like 1 step forward 2 steps back

You need to note I wrote back to back visas from them, That means Vientiane and getting 3 two entry tourist visas in a row from them without getting a visa from some where else.

I think the 2 weeks in the UK may or should mean you are getting a visa while there.

Bt 2,000, that an much more info you will find in the thread pinned top of this page and in many many other Vientane or Savannakhet reports.

Nice one thanks is there any days I should avoid going or any day Monday to Friday I only ask as you guys have done all this before its my first time doing the visa run

Don't go to Vientiane on Monday or Thursday, They are the busy days because that is when the visa run vans show up.

Friday is not good unless you don't mind waiting until Monday afternoon to pickup your passport.

If you go to Savannakhet every day is about the same. Weekend wait if you do it on Friday also.

Either one is good for getting a 2 entry tourist visa.

Savannakhet is just a bit harder to get to than Vientiane because their are less transport options.

No medical, no work permit !

A few 100 Bht spent on a medical will not, I hope , break the bank

The medical is needed for the work permit.
