Currently on Non O married,

retired, ( Not working.)

Australian,

49Y/O.

I've been living here for 4 years not working, but my wife has recently fallen very ill, she can't work full time has regular treatments required, she is the owner of a small business and has to close it often for her treatment, this makes it rather difficult to run her business, So I was wondering if I should get a volunteer work permit so I can help her and so as to avoid any possible work permit issues latter, being a volunteer employee what taxes if any would I be subject to and other costs also workers health insurances?

Appreciate any advise cheers.

To get a work permit as a volunteer you have to be working for a charitable organization, NGO and etc.

You would have to get a work permit for working at your wife's business meeting the registered capital and at least 2 Thai employees requirements.

It's a business run for a profit for you and your wife. In what way could that possibly be considered volunteering? Hire some Thai member of her family to run it when she can't.
