Staring contest with Thai males, are you a loser or winner?

Sometimes, when we walk, sit or doing anything that might catches the eyes of another person, in Thailand, we look them in the eyes for various lenghts of times and various forms of ''looking''

Now, on to the topic at hand. I have noticed that many farangs are affraid to look a Thai guy in the eyes or looks away first when having eye-contact or just plainly avoiding eye contact all together.

It's just my observation and I might be wrong or right. But this topic has never been discussed, which is surprising, given the fact that most of the farangs lose the staring contests with Thai males or scared to make eye contact with Thai males.

To which comes to my point and question to all farangs - Are u a loser or a winner in staring contest with Thai males. This is in no way to ridicule anyone, just the right way to say it. The more intelectual and sober persons would agree and find merit in my observations.

Personally. I am a real persons person. I always look at people directly in the eyes when I see or sense they look at me or staring at me. Thai males are no exceptions for me. When a Thai women look me in the eyes or stares at me, I will experience it kind of flirty and pleasant. But when a Thai guy does the same, I don't have that same feeling. It must be the local male machosism, which I find quite amusing. I am no macho by any means but I will win any staring contest with any person anywhere on this planet.

What is more amusing is that farangs look away first when they have eye-contact with Thai guys. Why is this amusing you might ask? Because most of the machosism attitude like staring and looking at farangs eyes is from the lower social echelon. They would never dare to stare or look in the eyes more than 1 second to a higher status Thai. They know their place in the social hierarchy, which is very important in Thailand. We farangs have higher status by default as we have higher buying power ie, more money and still lose the staring contest with lower status Thai males. Is it because they don't respect farang? or Does the hierarchy system not apply to farang, again, not respecting the farang.

Please give me your opinion, your thoughts and observation about this topic. This might be the most interesting topic this year or ever on this forum, or any Thai related forum.
