CICOT holds Halal workshop for southern border provinces

SONGKHLA, 14 March 2015 (NNT) – The Central Islamic Council of Thailand (CICOT) today held a workshop on Halal food for muslim leaders and Halal food entrepreneurs in the southern border provinces with PM’s Office Minister officiating over the event.

The Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office Panadda Diskul today officiated over the ‘Halal Knowledge Development with Scientific Support for Religious Leaders and Entrepreneurs’ workshop in Songkhla province, with about 500 participants from the southern border provinces.

The workshop aims to notify participants on accurate information of Halal foods, in accordance with the islamic and scientific principles, allowing the entrepreneurs to use this knowledge to improve their businesses.

The Prime Minister’s Office Minister said that this workshop will bring scientifically proven and religiously approved knowledge of Halal foods to the Muslim public in the southern region, which is related to the daily lives and their daily consumption. He said the correct information will improve the livelihood of individuals, families, and the nation as a whole.

The said that the workshop provides a chance for the Muslim community to exchange their experiences and comments together, showing the love and unity of the Muslim public to maintain peace in the area. The workshop will also demonstrate that Thailand has genuine peace and happiness in all areas under the constitutional monarchy democratic system.

The workshop has been organized in cooperation with the Central Islamic Council of Thailand and the Halal Science Center, Chulalongkorn University.
