Jatuporn fights back as NCPO makes NBTC shut red TV station

Featured Replies

Peace TV open to all opinions. I looked a few times a while ago. Probably some people didn't know even they could voice their opinion on Peace TV, not just red-shirts, Robert Amsterdam and so..

BTW There may have been some misunderstanding, but Peace TV broadcasting from Dubai has nothing to do with the UDD.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_TV

ADD: about seven months ago UDDTV moved to PEACETV and I can still access the stream from my trumoveH Mobile Broadband connection

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/peacetvth

ADD2: can access site, but streamTV off the air, maybe since October, 2014

The fact that red-shirts welcome a person like Jatuporn as their leader speaks volumes.

I remember the day they demonstrated their democratic principles and elected him to be their leader. Oh, hang on, no - that was the day they got told he was their new leader like it or not. IIRC, that was when their masters decided the rabble might need rousing to go out and die in the name of holding on to power so they shuffled that woman with the big mouth sideways and put the thug at the helm.

The big mouth clown should be jailed anyhow.

Yeah and so should Jutaporn ?

Is Chalerm not in jail already ?. What a shame - he deserves to be.

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out who ordered the terrorist attacks against protestors (under instruction from his master of course).

Peace my ass! That's the last thing these people want. Civil war is their goal.

Go on then, supply all the links and evidence you've found that casts all doubt aside and proves beyond all reasonable doubt who ordered the attacks, FACTs only please, not your opinions, but good old fashioned Facts.. Not the " elementary dear Watson" just good old fashioned detective work facts will suffice ?

This egomaniac has an obsessive preoccupation of himself and is possessed by delusions of personal greatness. The only meeting he deserves is with the prison guards who lock him up for life.

I suggest you study his background. He's not an egomaniac, but is a product of his hard scrabble life. He worked his way out of poverty and through university. His views are genuine and not rhetoric. He cares deeply for his daughters' future and wants them to have a better life than he did. Read some of his published articles closely, and you will soon see, that he is driven by his life experiences with injustice and discrimination. He scares many people in Bangkok because he gives a voice to the poor and the working class.

Don't interpret what I write as fandom, as Jatuporn dislikes people like me because he would see me as no different than the Bangkok elites, and to a point he is right. Lock him up and he will be a martyr and someone else more vocal and prone to violence will take his place. Right now he is the alpha dog keeping the more aggressive dogs in the pack, in their place. He serves the interests of the military government because he is a known entity. His replacement won't be as compliant.

What you think of as his egomaniacal personality pales into insignificance when compared to Prayuth's own ego

Jatuporn, innocence, these are words that don't go well together.

And what does jatuporn mean by reconciliation?

I looked it up in the Red Shirt dictionary. reconciliation: 1. granting blanket amnesty for Dr. Thaksin and everyone who does/has done his bidding, in and out of the government. 2. reinstating Dr. Thaksin to his rightful place as PM (preferably for life) and returning all his confiscated assets. 3. giving Dr. Thaksin carte blanche for all future criminality in which he may wish to engage in.

Sounds about right ! thumbsup.gif

I totally disagree but to each his/her own opinion.

JATUPORN PROMPHAN, a co-leader of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, insisted yesterday that there was no reason for the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to close down the movement's Peace TV, saying the channel welcomed opinions from all sides, irrespective of one's political leaning.

Jatuporn, who hosts shows on the channel,

Number of PAD leaders, or any other faction other than Red, that host a show, let alone the plural shows, on this channel that "welcomed opinions from all sides, irrespective of one's political leaning" :

ZERO, none, nada, zilch

Shame he treated his own mother with utter disdain and ignored her pleas for assistance up until she died in squalor last month. Reprehensible behavior.

His background?

It's littered with a long history of spearheading violence and retribution for anyone that goes against him.

He's a shabby thug for hire.

They probably didn't bother asking.

To be fair, it works both ways. I doubt there has a 'UDD point-of-view' program on the PDRC channel.

He also said the red shirts had been calm and peaceful since the military took over.

And there are those who try to tell us nothing good has come from the coup.

The big mouth clown should be jailed anyhow.

thats not a nice thing to say about chooka, even if it is truew00t.gif

Repeatedly the NCPO has told various broadcasters that they are violating its guidelines for content. Yet, when asked for specifics of what the guidelines are, the anwers is always, "You should know."

This is how a military government operates. The only equality is that the military controls all of it. Its guidelines and policies for restraining freedom of speech are left deliberately vague and inconsistent. That has nothing to due with reconcliiation; it has to do with the military pushing its agenda for permanent power regardless of who is shoved aside at either end of the political spectrum.

Oh Jatuporn how we have missed your contribution to society and Mr Chalerm come out of hiding and give us a few more of your pearls of wisdom..life is so dull without you both.

Netanyahu and Jatuporn. Twins born in hell! bah.gif

How can you say that about a recently DEMOCRATICALLY elected PM?

Now if you had replaced him with Thaksin then that is more than right.

Just because someone is democratically elected doesn't stop them from being stupid, crazy or both.. just look at GW Bush!
true and even more can be said of those who stage a coup. Soldiers aren't statesmen or politicians.

Wow, can't wait to see how the democratic elections will be monitored?

In the same way as before, guns tottering in red shirts.

or, returning to reality, like this

Peace my ass! That's the last thing these people want. Civil war is their goal.

I think that they would probably settle for a democratic system of government which represented all Thai people equally.

As for the country's politics, Jatuporn said he wanted Thailand to move forward and urged the general public to exercise restraint so as to avoid tension and conflict.

this mirrors the position Thaksin appeared to give a couple months ago. It's a strategic mistake. There is no reconciliation in progress here. Cooperation will not advance the country. The current regime is setting up the country to remain firmly under their control for the next decade. They don't need anyone's cooperation. They are in charge.

Should a convicted criminal fugitive, on the lam from his prison sentence and 15 more serious charges waiting in the criminal courts really be allowed to express his position and play an active (very) role in running the country he won't return to without a blanket amnesty?

Would anyone believe anything the alleged terrorist Jatuporn spills out?

But otherwise your're probably right. Looks like some of the crooks might actually get punished this time, rather than sweeping it all under the carpet in the "interests of reconciliation" as always happened in the past.

not really clear on which parts of your reply apply to my post, but, hey....

just to go on the record again regarding Thaksin, I have no illusions about his self-interested manipulations of the system - either then or now. As such, I do not see him as being important in any way shape or form to democratically minded Thais.

The very specific fight between Thaksin and his opponents is nothing more than another fight between powerful elites. The problem of creating a democratic, fair and just Thai society lies elsewhere, namely with the military and their wealthy allies. Thaksin is in not the source of all problems, nor is he any kind of saviour for the Thai people.

Regarding Thaksin and his own personal fight with the current power brokers, I feel that his current strategy of "appeasement" is both superficial and a strategic mistake. But that is his problem. The Thai people have a different problem.

Are Jatuporn and Suthep brothers because both are similar idiots?

The next election should involve putting both in a cage but the result will probably be 2 losers!

Of course it would be unfair to leave the director general out of such contest given his equal capabilities.

Jatuporn should be very careful when he opens his big mouth, he should always keep in mind that his bail can me revoked at any time, on more than one charge.

"He added that shutting down the channel would affect the reconciliation process"

Coming from Jatuporn that can be construed as a threat.

I can just imagine him training a militia "defenders of democracy" up north as I type this.

Him and his other UDD accused terrorist friends are the only ones that have the potential to affect the reconciliation process. The majority of the UDD supporter base, not unlike most Thai's just want to live a peaceful, stable and comfortable life.

And what does jatuporn mean by reconciliation?

To Jatuporn, reconciliation means the country being run by a convicted, fugitive criminal and all his brown nosing lackeys with himself being one of the senior mouthpieces.

When a personal attack against me is the best reply you can offer you know you have lost the argument.

Thank you and have a lovely morning my friend.

Oh well, air it all out on Facebook then, why is it people like to complain more over Facebook than to the people they are moaning about

You are joking of course?

The Thaksin led red shirts, PTP and UDD have never remotely been interested in real democracy, law and justice or representing anyone other than themselves.

None of that is in the article. ermm.gif

He makes it up. Most Shin supporters and apologists do it all the time. So much more convenient than facts and truth.
