Hi there,

I wish to work in an International school in bangkok as a second language teacher (not english), the problem is I only have a Bachelor of Business and a TESOL plus roughly 5 years experience teaching kids from international schools but privately as well as corporate teaching. I think its a bit late to apply for this year but I can get ready for next year. What are my chances? What could I do to succeed in my quest? I will be grateful if you can post any information. Haha I wish my grand parents would have taugh me. They were german teachers in oxford university but I teach french

To gain employment in a true international school you will need a proper teaching qualification, not a TOFEL or any other half ass certificate that people get and call themselves a teacher with, a proper degree and relevant full-time experience for a minimum of two years. Luckily for you there are plenty of half ass schools in Bangkok that call themselves international schools so they'll turn a blind eye to those requirements but teaching French as a second language will limit the potential employment pool for you. Find out what the requirements are to work in a language school or local school, it's a very low bar so you're probably already over qualified.

To gain employment in a true international school you will need a proper teaching qualification, not a TOFEL or any other half ass certificate that people get and call themselves a teacher with, a proper degree and relevant full-time experience for a minimum of two years. Luckily for you there are plenty of half ass schools in Bangkok that call themselves international schools so they'll turn a blind eye to those requirements but teaching French as a second language will limit the potential employment pool for you. There was a job posting for a full time french teacher on aj forum just the other day. Go look. They are around. If nothing else, go to the Lycee Francais in BKK and ask the French teachers there. They should have an idea of where other French speakers go to teach.

Watch the employment boards, but as far as genuine accredited international schools (accredited outside of Thailand) you do not have the qualifications. You might be able to swing the international program at a Thai university or Thai school with an IP

BTW, 5 years at a language school in Bangkok would have given you the right ideas, if your statement was true. Something doesn't sound right.

St. Andrews International School (Bangkok) and the Regents School (Bangkok campus) are National Curriculum schools that also employ French, Spanish, German language teachers within their MFL departments.

Not sure what their minimum qualification requirements are though.

The English teaching degree teaches you how to teach. French/German/ Spanish teachers are also expected to have a PGCE or B/ED with QTS and at least three years experience teaching UK curriculum... There may be exceptions if you were a qualified teacher from France, Germany etc and had experience teaching UK curriculum in UK.
