Thaivisa News
Phuket:- A 21-year-old Briton turned a pistol on himself and was killed inside a shooting range in Phuket’s Thalang district Saturday afternoon, police said. Pol Lt Kraisorn Boonprasop, an interrogator of Thalang police station, identified the man as Colven Liam. He was shot once at his right temple with a .45mm automatic pistol. The bullet pieced through his left temple. Kraisorn was alerted of the shooting incident at 3:45 pm at the Thalang shooting gallery. Police took the gun powder trace from his hand and the spent shells at the scene for further investigation. Kraisorn said police checked the footage of security cameras in the gallery and saw Liam carrying a bag and walking into the shooting range. He then walked to a shooting corner where Navin Inparn, 36, was supervising. Liam then took off his shirt and placed it on his bag. He emptied seven bullets loaded by Navin into a paper target. All the shots hit the target. After Navi reloaded the gun and handed it to Liam, he raised it to his temple and fired, the video footage showed. A horrified Navin then ran for help from other officials at the range. Navin later told police that Liam asked him to reload the gun with just three bullets. When he saw Liam raised the gun to his head, Navin was startled and tried to push it away but he could not react in time. Prasert Pasaman, 47, a taxi driver, said he picked up Liam from a hotel on Bangthao beach in Thalang. Prasert said Liam did not appear under tension while riding the taxi. NeverSure
Earlier it was a .11 mm pistol and now it's .45 mm pistol. Sorry to have a go, but it's not grown that much, and would still be tiny. It's probably an 11 mm which could also be a .45 caliber and probably the venerable .45 ACP. Sorry about the young man. Condolences again.

Obviously you are correct but, to be fair, the metrication of the imperial system is enough to confuse most. Why on earth the USA went down this route is baffling. Why not 9/20ths of an inch, or 29/64ths? Surely either of those would have made more sense to an American. Perhaps it was because they had already had the Colt 29 which was actually closer to 28/64ths and they just didn't want to keep on exaggerating them up, calling the 45 the 30 would have implied it was almost 2mm bigger than it really was! Now I feel bad for talking about the caliber not the loss of life, really terrible to hear of any suicides but so young is just tragic. No doubt he could have turned things around soon, the early 20's are a hard time for many.
jcisco
whoa 21 years old and decided to go out like this, what a horror to witness. You really cannot legislate against this either, people that are willing to do themselves such harm are really just an unstoppable force. I hope the supervisor and staff can sleep at night and enjoy the workplace a bit after this has happened. 21 years old and this was an option to whatever problems he had..... and it was the winning option in his mind... just a waste of a life, kinda sad

The .45 caliber is 450/1000's of an inch or about 11.5 mm and would be lumped as 11 mm. A .38 caliber is 38/1000's of and inch and is 9 mm. The US designates guns which were designed in Europe as metric as in the common 9 mm handgun. I brought it up only because the articles were badly incorrect. I feel really bad about this young man and can't understand why young people think there's no other answer. He must have thought about it a long time to get to a gun range, fire one magazine and ask for more. Or maybe he wanted to shoot and made a sudden decision. I'll never know but I'll always feel bad.
