#1 = Small green Thai eggplant = มะเขือเปราะ, = makhuea pro

#2 = Young coconut for roasting = มะพร้าวเผา = maprao pao

#3 = Pomfret = ปลาจาระเม็ดทะเล = bpla jeramet talay

#4 = Bitter melon = มะระจีน = Mara jeen (Chinese)

#5 = Frog crab or Spanner crab = ปูจักจั่น = bpuu jak jan

Note: #4 is commonly called bitter gourd as well as bitter melon.

Dear Pla shado,

Thank you very much for that. I have quite a few photos which I took at Bangkok markets a few years ago and some of the names I have forgotten (even though I made a list at that time, which I can't find). I couldn't work out the young coconuts, because I couldn't remember how large the things in the photo were. I was wondering - are these seeds of some kind?

I still have more and hate to bother the Forum members, but I will send them a few at a time.

Bother away but be aware of the know it alls that don't know much at all.

Dear Gonsalviz,

Not sure exactly what you mean, or why you bothered to post such a comment.

Don't worry. Most of the Thai Forum members who take the time to send information usually base their comments on research, or solid knowledge. When they are not sure, they state so, but they always try to help in some way.
