A friend is coming to Thailand from Ecuador. She needs to know about visa requirments.

Featured Replies

HI folks

She has asked me to kindly learn if she needs a visa to enter Thailand?

I would imagine a visitors ivsa of course.

Theres no Thai embassy she says in Ecuador.

How much will it cost and can she get it upon arrival to Thailand?

How long of duration is the initial visa for and can she renew it and for how long?

Your help is deeply appreciated.

Have a ;positive and life inspiring day

J

Mr Google suggests that your friend check this out:

She needs a visa before travelling to Thailand.

I believe there is a consulate in Quito.

Assuming your friend is a citizen of Ecuador, then it appears she will need to apply for a tourist visa at a Royal Thai Embassy. Looks like the closest may be the one in Lima, Peru.

Edit:

The consulate general in Quito would probably be a better choice (as posted above by others). In general, someone obtaining a tourist visa is allowed 60 days, which can be extended by 30 days while in Thailand. You would want to confirm whether these general terms apply to a citizen of Ecuador.

Be sure to check whether she will require a YELLOW FEVER vaccination proof. Last time I checked those coming from Ecuador do need it. Don't ask if it makes sense or not.

oh just delete these type of posts. do the people really have nothing else to do? Nobody would go to Thai visa for such a routine question. And of course the OP doesn't really provide what country the "friend" is a citizen of. Just mentioning Equador doesn't mean the "friend" is an ecadorian. Let them search the Internet. On the off chance this is a valid post, my internet search says the nearest applicable Thai embassy for Ecuador is in Santiago chile. I also don't see Ecuador on the list of countries for 15 or 30 day Visa Exempt stamps upon arrival in Thailand. So I think a citizen of Ecuador would have to apply for a Tourist Visa in Advance

That's true, the friends nationality is a key factor in visa requirements.

As far as yellow fever, if still required, that isn't a matter or nationality, but rather a matter of being recently in Ecuador.

By the same token, it would be an extremely odd topic for a troll.

If it was a Nigerian asking for help, flags would get raised.

Methinks you're taking it too seriously.

Sure it's no troll but still nationality is important.
