Proof of Residence for Retirement Extension

Featured Replies

Last year, Chonburi (Jomtien) office would not accept a 1 month utility bill as proof of residence for a retirement extension. I was told I needed to present copies of at least 6 months of utility bills. They did, however, accept a copy of my Thai Driving License as proof of residence.

What are the current requirements at Jomtien? Anybody had any recent experience with this?

I gave them a copy of a dual-language rental contract (they sighted the original). I also brought a utility bill just in case but the rental contract was enough to get their Certificate of Residence in January 2015.

Last year, the officer doing the Retirement extension wanted to see the original documentation that was used to get their Certificate of Residence even though it was issued by the same office the previous day. I didn't attend personally this year and had an agent file for me but she confirmed that they still need to see the documents that supported their own CoR issuance.

Your comment on the "dual-language rental contract" caught my eye . Is this a pro-forma document and where might I aquire a copy ?

Thanks,

macjet

So presumably Jomtien don't accept your wife's blue tabien house book as sufficient address proof then - unlike their counterparts at Maptaput in my case (although I haven't been asked there for any address proof at all when applying for my last 2 retirement extensions).

Have just renewed my retirement extension at Jomtien - picked up my passport this afternoon and posed for a photo as part of the process!

As part of my paperwork I included a signed copy of my wife's iD card and blue tabien baan. As her surname differs from mine it could really have been anyone! No address proof specifically asked for but have provided these docs on each retirement extension (3no). No idea if I would have had issues if I had not supplied them.
