British man assaulted outside Convenience Store in Central Pattaya



PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Saturday a 35 year old British man, who was described by Police as intoxicated, was assaulted by a group of 3 Thai males, outside of a 24 hour convenience store in Central Pattaya.

Police were called to the store located in Soi Buakhao, just before 3.30am on Saturday and met with Mr. Lee Hontington who had sustained a head injury and facial cuts and bruises consistent with details of the assault he gave to Police.

Officers also spoke with the cashier of the convenience store who revealed how the man entered the store and begged for help.

Oh, well done Colombo! Let's blame the foreigner. If he got slapped on-on-one, I'd say "fair play". But he was set upon by 3 of them. Nothing justifies that. You might think about that first before speaking garbage.

Seriously we all like to pick on Pattaya but really on the weekends in America after 11pm all sorts of bad things happen. Sad to say on Sunday nights were I am from the cops in the summer ride horses at bar closing to disperse the crowds quicker. Someone gets shot every weekend in the summer. Drugs and alcohol . You're a fool Puukao. How many of these attacks are done by cowardly Thais who take advantage of someone if they are drunk or injured? Almost all of them. More seriously....this type of thing is upsetting, but it seems the streets are flooded with young gangster wanna-be's. They are quick to react to anybody that might cross their paths. Being drunk doesn't help at all. One time, a girl on walking street held up a "Free Beer" sign ...and I thought it would be funny to take it and bring it in the bar, for the free beer...(like it was a coupon). I had intended it to be funny, but the girl shouted loudly, and six guys came after me.... I ran to the tourist police and turned myself in. The six guys just wandered off. I told the police...my bad..my bad. They just laughed, and the girl came over, slapped my arm, and grabbed her sign.

P's and Q's...... go about your business and don't ruffle feathers.

See this what most people who come to Thailand don't understand is that ,you can't have fun like you would do in your own country while on a night out. Thais have different sense of humour, and doing something that you think is funny can be very offensive to Thais.

The simple rule is that WHEN YOU GO TO ANOTHER COUNTRY ANYWHERE AROUND THE WORLD, YOU CAN'T ACT LIKE YOU DO AT HOME!!!!!

An important thing to remember in Thailand is Thais do not always smile and walk away. Normally yes but not always. In places like Pattaya maybe they've come up against drunk foreigners before. Not saying anyone was at fault here but first mode is always say sorry or excuse me and walk away.. Its no good being in the right then in hospital.

The guy with no shirt on just about sums it up for me, 3.30am and he is walking around with no shirt on. Not sure if he is mate,s with the drunken guy or not.

One thing is certain for me, this happens anywhere in the world not just Pattaya, drink and wannabee boxers, u find trouble
