Anyone done a Non Imm O multi entry based on marriage in Colombo recently ?

It is not far from here and a different holiday destination and easy visas for a Thai to visit as well.

The questgion is, what do they need, how long do they take and are they a tricky bunch of folks or just normal ?

As far as I know they do not do them. Plus you must be a citizen or resident of Sri Lanka to apply for a visa.

Oh, well that rules out going to Sri Lanka for 2 weeks and getting visa while there then.

Some "crazy" policy like this is exactly why I thought I would ask. Crazy as they don't tell you. A shame really.

You would think that they would say their on their website, In the list of requirements, funds needed to show and doc etc they don't even mention that.

You could contact the embassy in Colombo to confirm they stil require residency. If you look at their retirements to get a visa they are all written for a local person.

It is same in Japan to get visas. "4. For non-Japanese applicant, a copy of resident card or certificate of alien registration. The applicant is also required to present the original documents of identification upon visa application."

I got my multi non-O in Seoul in February (see my report in the report section.) South Korea is a great place to visit, has fantastic food, all the shopping your wife could possibly want, plenty of sights including many free and dirt-cheap ones, national parks and hiking trails accessible by subway, great jospitality, and Thais can visit without a visa.

Tried ringing Colombo 24 times now over the last several days, cant get to talk to anyone.

They are Fening useless.

No reply to any emails.
