Former Democrat MP calls for police reform

BANGKOK: -- Former Democrat MP Watchara Phetthong Friday submitted a letter to National Reform Council President Thienchay Kirananda, calling for police reform.

Watchara said there should be a new independent agency to replace police in carrying out crime investigations as police often abuse their authority to make cases unfair.

wouldnt it be great if someone actually listened and did something about the police for once, just imagine how much better the country would be andf how much safer the roads would be if the police actually did what they were paid to do, just never happen.

I thought it was. Soliders with powers of Article 44?

I have a wild idea. Lets have a police force that is anything else than an incompetent, corrupted mafia.

He does look rather like he's seen his own name on the list ...

"there should be a new independent agency to replace police in carrying out crime investigations"

Citing Article 44 the police have just been placed under the military. What more should be done?

After 2 sentences, I now consider myself well and truly informed.

Weren't the Democrats running the place for a while?

Don't you EVER do any research before you post rubbish like this?

Being as I am normally a nice guy I did most of your research for you, however I will leave you to work out how many years the Democrats have been in power since 1997, how long the military have been in power and how long governments under Thaksin have been in power, then you can come back and tell us all how the democrats in such a shot time screwed up the country and how in a much longer time that the TRT, PPP and PTP valiantly tried to turn back the tide.

PS Do your own (deleted) homework and research first. Laziness and sloppy work offends me.

For a little over 2 years the Democrats were running it.

From

09 November 1997 to 09 February 2001, Democrats, Chuan Leekpai

09 February 2001 to 05 April 2006 TRT, Thaksin Shinawatra

05 April to 23 May 2006 TRT, Pol Gen Chitchai Wannasathit

23 May to 19 September 2006 TRT, Thaksin Shinawatra

19 September to 01 October 2006 (12 days) Military, Leader: General Sonthi Boonyaratglin,

01 October 2006 to 29 January 2008 Independent, General Surayud Chulanont

29 January to 08 September 2008 PPP, Samak Sundaravej

18 September 2008 to 02 December 2008 PPP, Somchai Wongsawat

02 December 2008 to 15 December 2008 Independent, Chaovarat Chanweerakul

17 December 2008 to 05 August 2011 Democrat, Abhisit Vejjajiva

05 August 2011 to 07 May 2014 PTP, Yingluck Shinawatra

07 May 2014 to 22 May 2014 PTP, Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan

22 May 2014 to 24 August 2014 Military, National Council for Peace and Order

24 August 2014 to date Military, General Prayut Chan-o-cha

His wish is apparently their command, go to the BKK Post and search for : Police reform on the way.

Gutless to call for military reform.

Crimes should be investigated by who if not the police? I think this guy has been watching Ace Ventura Pet Detective too seriously.

Correction, the grammer police.

And who should investigate the crimes of the police?

Someone finally with a good idea. And surprise, not from current government.
