I live in Issan, but many TVF members tell me that I live in the clouds.

Wasn't that option for me to tick.

Chiang Rai for the last 8 years but before that 30 years in Bangkok.

1 month in Pattaya and then 8 years Bangkok

10 years Bangkok. Before that Phuket.

I think two homes are important.

A main home in a part of the country where you can enjoy a good life with your wife or g/f.

A second home in Pattaya.

If MiL turns up at your main home and looks like she's staying for more than a few days, you can offer to make room for her stay in your Pattaya home while MiL is visiting.

This will ensure that your main home will remain a happy place where you can live in peace and quiet, undisturbed by the rellos.

I take it you mean the Farangs Charlie. I thought "the past" would refer more to the Thais.

Come, come Costas, we all know where you live, and it isn't in the clouds. From the majority of your posts it's clear you live in a smelly place where there is no solar activity, but where the sound of 'heel clicking' is often heard!

I am building my house in the rural area of Kabinburi. I cannot visit my inlaws and my wifes relatives without being given fruit, offered beer and food and true LOS hospitality. I wish I was near the sea, but the acceptance of me, a huge smile from everyone, what more could you want. I paid for dental treatment for nawee, every day he brings me bananas or star fruit, jack fruit and so on. A lot of you blokes don't know what you are missing by living in the cities.

Issan will win for the sheer amount of Europeans married to the naive farm girls of that area and also the naive europeans who are supporting whole families there.
