July 27, 201511 yr No doubt about this one, you may have to rename this Keystone award after Hamilton, as his first lap was one of the worst I have ever seen, lousy start, brake lock, skid off track, and then a crash later in the race into Ricciardo...I would feel safer on a dangerous expressway than on any track where the clueless Hamilton is randomly driving into objects. OTOH, Alonso and Button both made it to the end, so maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Honda after all. It was one of the best recent races though. Yawn....more of the same in qualifying. Hardly seems fair that one team has a superior car, and out-races everyone, even with average drivers..... They may need to introduce a handicap system like in golf or sailing in order to make this more competitive. This week we will make a predictive keystone award for the hapless Button....let's see what happens. Edited July 27, 201511 yr by zurgos
July 27, 201511 yr Rosberg for spitting the dummy when told Hamilton is coming in to change tyres, 'well I'm coming in too then' despite being an obvious bad decision. Understeering into Ricciardo and getting a puncture and then driving way too fast with a disintegrating tyre and sliding off course in his way to the pits. Most entertaining race of the year so far. July 28, 201511 yr Author Excellent points....Rosberg is incredibly whiny and seems to have some sort of "entitled" mentality. OTOH, Hamilton did acknowledge some of his own incompetence here.... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/formula-1/lewis-hamilton-when-you-make-6144012 Lewis Hamilton: 'When you make a fool of yourself, sometimes you just have to laugh it off' Rosberg for spitting the dummy when told Hamilton is coming in to change tyres, 'well I'm coming in too then' despite being an obvious bad decision. Apparently the pit team didn't have enough time to get the Soft tires ready for Nico. So they just bolted on what was at hand. Unblievable
August 23, 201511 yr Author Between the "mystery" of the unpredictable tire blow outs, and the fact that is one of the few decent F-1 tracks left, we all await on the edge of our seats, who will be our keystone winner....odds are on Button....although Hamilton giving it all away at the first corner comes in a close second
August 24, 201511 yr One of the most boring races in recent history......the keystone award has to go to the colour blind pit crew (Bottas?) who put on an unmatching tire during a pit stop....these pit crew guys are not generally the sharpest tools in the shed, but how they could get this wrong is truly astounding. I would not want to put my life in their hands! September 21, 201510 yr Author The dude who ran on the track definitely gets the keystone....lucky not to get mulched, brings back memories of Tom Pryce.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Pryce#Death and gruesome video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOfQRWkAnX0
September 22, 201510 yr The race itself was boring as hell, so I will give the keystone to the slower than molasses sweepers cleaning up the debris on the track. Hard to believe that this cash cow sport cannot afford a quicker and higher tech solution than the few sweepers with cheap push brooms that were used. Even a different type of wisk broom commonly used in Thailand would have been more effective. Maybe they could get some of those sweeper guys from the Olympics curling to train the clean up crews. Runner up to the guy on the track.... In order to make this otherwise dull sport more interesting, they should make a running of the bulls type scenario where a few hundred people get a head start and race down the track, before the bulls (or redbulls) are released..... September 22, 201510 yr running of the bulls....loving it.... ....maybe need to get a few bulls behind button to speed him up....
September 23, 201510 yr sounds like the hapless Button maybe on the way out soon anyway....to a racing series with slower cars no doubt.... running of the bulls....loving it.... ....maybe need to get a few bulls behind button to speed him up....
