Multiple entry visa question: exit and enter within the initial 30 days

Featured Replies

Hello.

Lets say I get a multiple (3) entry Visa and within the initial 30 days of the Visa I exit Thailand for a week and enter back. Will that start my 2nd entry or will it be under the initial visa's entry ?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

J

It will activate your second entry, unless you get a re-entry permit before you leave at a cost of 1,000 baht.

A tourist visa is for most nationalities good for 60 days, to be extended by 30 days for 1,900 baht.

Where do I get that re-entry permit ? If I did get it it means I'm still staying under the first entry of the multiple entry visa ?

Thanks.

If have a multiple entry visa it is not a tourist visa. Tourist visas are not issued as multiple entries they are issued by the number of entries allowed.

It sounds like you have a 3 entry tourist visa.

You can get a re-entry permit at an immigration office or on departure from both airports in Bangkok 24 hours a day.

When you use the re-entry permit you will get the remainder or your 60 day entry you got from your first entry.

You can get them 24 hours a day. The desk is located in the departure immigration area. You need your boarding pass to get there.

Thanks!

Was out to Chang Wattana 10 days ago and asked the lady at the re-entry desk what the hours

we're at Suvarnabumi Airport.

She did not know so she went to her supervisor who said 6 am to 12 midnight.

Don't know which is right.

Best check if you need a re-entry between 12 midnight and 6 am.

It has been confirmed many times that it is open 24 hours a day.
