EXIM aims to give out 19 billion baht loan this year

BANGKOK, 20 April 2015, (NNT) - The Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank) is prepared to offer a total of 19 billion baht in loans this year, with an emphasis on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

EXIM Bank Executive Vice President Kematat Saicheur said that about nine billion baht in loans are available for SME operators, of which 4.6 billion baht has been allocated to new SME exporters.

He said one of the loan projects being offered for new SME exporters is a two-year program with 600 million baht in loans available for 2015 and another 400 million baht for 2016. Mr. Kematat stated that creditors can borrow up to triple their security.

Furthermore, the Executive Vice President said the bank has planned another two-year program for SME operators in border provinces. The bank has allocated 500 million baht per year for these loans. Eligible creditors must operate in areas close to Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.

He added that these clients are exempt for Letters of Credit. The bank would instead dispatch officials to inspect their businesses in person. The loans will have a limit of ten million baht.
