September 4, 200619 yr Hiya all My Wife and I are now in the UK but want to go back to Thailand to visit for a while. What is the longest time limit allowed to stay outside UK on a Settlement Visa. Thanks All for your help.
September 4, 200619 yr There is no specific time limit. However, if she were to spend more time in Thailand than in the UK this may cause a problem when she applies for ILR, as at that time she will have to show that she is settled in the UK, and intends to reside there indefinitely.

September 5, 200619 yr One thing to bear in mind, if she intends to apply for British citizenship. To qualify as the spouse of a British citizen she must have been physically present in the UK on the exact date 3 years prior to the application. She must be free of any visa time limit, e.g. have ILR, and must have spent no more than 270 days out of the UK during the last 3 years with no more than 90 days in the final year.
