Tourists flock to Koh Larn to escape Songkran water wars

PATTAYA:--Tourists trying to escape the mayhem that is Songkran in Pattaya spent more of their days this year on Koh Larn where they didn’t have to dodge buckets of water.

The island was the popular option for holidaymakers who preferred relaxation over water wars that started in earnest April 13. Bali Hai Pier was notably busier than in previous years with ferries and speedboats packed with tourists, particularly the Chinese who’ve supplanted Russians this year in Pattaya.

Koh Larn offers beautiful scenery and cleaner beaches for people who like to snorkel, swim, sunbathe or just hang out around the area and enjoy the breeze. Restaurants and most other business vendors in Koh Larn were doing incredibly well, showing that Pattaya’s tourism was brought back to life during Songkran.

I heard this little island used to be very nice and cllean

Also heard this island is no longer nice and cllean

As usual money take priority or conservation

Welcome to "Thainess"

i also hear that some posters on TV are angry if the tourists happen to come from a certain nationality but not if they come from their own nationality or close to their own.

Dont blame them - the noise was absolutely inescapable anywhere in central Pattaya. I like a lot of things about Isaan Thai people, but being born with industrial deafness isnt one of their more endearing characteristics. Add alcohol and water and it's just a bunch of hillbillies let loose in a trailer park.

After carefully following the Thai announcements for a few years, I now know the definition of a flock. It's 19.5 people or more.
