Panel discussions on Pak Bara Bay and how the deep-sea port project will forever ruin the rich and rare marine resources in the bay, photo exhibitions and documentary film show about the bay are being held at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre now until Sunday.Mr Thammarat Nutathira, an official of natural museum at Kampaengwittaya school in Satun, said, according to the exploration of the bay undertaken by a group of Japanese marine geologists, the marine national park in Satun which covers Pak Bara bay is one of Asean’s richest source of fossils. The deep-sea port in Pak Bara is part of the landbridge project to connect the eastern and western coasts of Thailand so that freighters from Europe can unload cargoes in Pak Bara port without have to round the Malaca strait in order to arrive at ports in the Gulf which will waste more time and cause more expenditure. fxe1200
Pak Bara is not a good idea, as it does not have a short or halfway decent connection to the East coast. The should try Satun. The route 406 runs from there all the way to Songkhla.
