Lamai Bars now open again after 2am

Featured Replies

For a few weeks most if not all the bars were closing at 2am as the two cops on their motorbike did the rounds waving fingers and making the bars shut up shop. Now it seems half the bars including Fusion are now continuing to be open after 2. What is going on? What was the point of just a few weeks of early closing?

probably the Bar owners finally accepted to award a monthly payment to the Cops providing those unsolicited "security services"

Sound Club got shut down at 415 this morning, due to the police patrolling the soi.

The nightlife's closing hour should have something to do with the people in uniforms, who came down from Bangkok to investigate the aftermath from the shooting of a so-called ”mafia boss” in Fisherman’s Village. The uniformed men began with a raid at a number of places early morning, and thereafter all nightlife should close at 2am. Then the opening hours have been extended little by little till 2:30am, 3:00am, and so on, and lately until 4:30am for at least Sound Club in Chaweng – however sometimes abrupt around 4:15am.
But there can of course be more in the story, than normal people are told...whistling.gif
