  • Arrest the illegal workers. Fine. As usual, not a word about the agents or Mr. Bigs - from all countries. Why? Or is it so, so difficult to set up a sting to bring these people to justice?

But Thais dont want to work hard, end of story.

If you look at the Thais who are doing low-paid work, if you bump up their pay to 600 or 700 baht per day, well, you might see them working hard.

And if you was to transport those Thais to England, have them compete against English workers for seven quid an hour, that's almost 350 baht per hour. Tell those Thais that they will be sacked and sent home to Thailand if they are slower than the English workers in their factory or warehouse, well, that's when you will see those Thais working like mad. Yes, they will want to make sure that they are quicker than the English workers.

I'm trying to say, yes, Thais will work hard if the reward is greater. But Thailand is a place where the rich or well-off Thais are bringing in cheap foreigners to compete and replace the Thai workers. I hope that Britain does not go down the same path as Thailand, I hope Britain will not be importing a stack of cheap foreigners to compete against local English workers.
