Featured Replies

I am an American who landed in BKK on april 6th. 24 days later I went to Cambodia for 3 days and now I am back in BKK. Can I go to the thai consulate and get a 30 day extension on my visa ???

You can go to immigration and get a 30 day extension for 1,900 baht.

There is no Thai consulate in Thailand (just like there is no US embassy in the US).

You don't have a visa, you have a visa exemption.

The good news is that you can get a 30 day extension of your visa exemption, just visit your local immigration office, fill in the form (you will need photos and photocopies of the relevant pages of your passport), pay 1,900 Baht.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I'm assuming since you don't mention it that you re-entered Thailand on a visa exempt entry. Being an American you received 30 days on the visa exempt entry. Technically speaking you don't have a visa, but rather a visa exempt entry.

Yes, you can go to a Thai immigration office (not consulate, which only exist outside Thailand) and for 1,900 Baht you can get an additional 30 days added on to the permission to stay you currently have in your passport.
