The Best Matress,for fibromyalgia.

Featured Replies

I have fibromyalgia and am about to buy a new matress or vamp up my old one with a new cover but I have no idea what's on the market.

So what kind of a mattress is best for fibromyalgia, memory foam or

just a good expensive mattress and how much should I spend.

Are there memory foam toppers that I could put on the matress I have.

I want to put a memory foam topper and a washable topper on it,if I can't I will buy a new mattress.

All advice wellcome.

You wont like my advice but I have Fibromyalgia as well.........I sleep on the floor with a one inch mattress and for last 4 years the best sleep ever in uk. Soon as I get in Thai bed back comes the sleeping problems

Fibromyalgia is due to diet, I know because I had it

invest in proper food rather than a mattress.

Aim for a hard mattress. It will ease the pain which memory foam might not do because it's softer.

Another vote for the floor with something about the thickness of 2 yoga mats.

I'm really pleased that you have been able to get over this debilitating condition, but I can assure you it's not caused by diet. It may be irritated by diet, that's a suck it and see thing that we have to try out.

I have said goodbye to fibro a year ago, if I eat wrong it comes back.

It is DIET and only and solely DIET

Unfortunately, mine is not related to diet. I have often been in such a bad way that I haven't eaten for close to a week - plenty of time for diet related things to have cleared through my system.

As far as Dr John McDougall is concerned, a few of his claims are, to say the least, questionable. More to the point, I have a friend who suffers and is a vegan, which is the McDougall diet and basis of Dr McDougall's claims regarding fibro.

As I said, I really am pleased that you were able to rid yourself of fibro - I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, and I'm a very vindictive person - and diet certainly might help other sufferers, most of us will try anything no matter how outlandish they seem, but not all of us will be cured I'm afraid. The worst thing about it here in Thailand is the lack of serious pain control.

Read about Ray Peat. Change your life. Hard to follow in Los unless you can affort the beef and lamb.......also just hard to follow his writings as they get pretty involved however there are articles geared towards laymans terms....

I read a fair bit by and about him a couple of years ago, still stuff my face with almonds and walnuts though. Best of luck to anyone on any diet. If it works for you, keep going and don't listen to others; just keep on doing what you're doing.
