Rimmer
Crazed man in knife incident on Pattaya Beach PATTAYA:--A 43 year old man was arrested on Friday Morning only meters away from Pattaya Police Station following a knife fight with a deckchair operator, which occurred moments after he was released by Pattaya Police following an earlier knife incident with a foreign tourist. Just before 8am Police were made aware of a violent scuffle which was taking place on Pattaya Beach opposite the Police Station. Officers ran over the road and arrested Khun Prasert, who sustained a serious cut to his forehead. He was armed with a knife and was arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station where medics were waiting to administer First Aid. Khun Lor aged 62 is a deckchair operator on the beach was the apparent victim of the fight. He sustained minor injuries and refused treatment from medics. He told Police that he saw Khun Prasert harassing tourists who were using his deckchairs and when he approached the man and told him to leave, Khun Prasert produced the knife which led Khun Lor to pick up a piece of wood. z42
He was released without charge following a knife related incident with a tourist. Seems the only thing people are actually locked up for are lm, drugs or being poor. Pathetic
Just1Voice
So, the police intervene in an earlier altercation this man had, where he pulled a knife on a foreign tourist. But since it was a foreigner, they let him go, and let him keep the knife as well A few minutes later, he's into it with someone else, except this time it was another Thai. So this time they arrest him, then pack him off to a hospital that deals with mental health issues. Yeah, he's suffering from TST (Typical Stupid Thai) Syndrome. I swear, you can't make this stuff up.

champers
Looks like the deckchair guy had a big stick. The attacker needs more than bandages from the sound of it. Seems to have mental issues.
Johnny S
Once again Police Force demonstrate their incompetence and ignorance to falangs - Too bad the deckchair guy didnt have a shotgun ...

Pathetic In thailand people are only locked up, if they have a foreign passport; Thai criminals and murders always will be released on bail, but not less than 1.000,- thb !! shirtless
Under the circumstances he should never have been released the first time round , i find it difficult to understand their actions .
HLover
It's a good thing the old guy at 62 years of age was able to produce wood and fend off the attacker with his rock hard staff.
Khun Riki
It reminds me similar case 2 years ago, never forget as police friendly hug the suspect (about 0:17 in video), it was like "hey bro it is just another farang ha ha ha..."
ezzra
It'll be much easier to nab all the so called long term residents in Pattaya and than sort out who's not wanted somewhere, you'd be surprise what they will catch....

Emster23
So good to see Thai police are following up on that order to ensure tourists safety: "Now when we let you go, no more stabbing tourists..... promise?" (Didn't say anything about stabbing countrymen...)
EyesWideOpen
Funny stuff . Oh wait this is reality..... So this knife attacker is let out right away after an attack. The police can thank their lucky stars his second victim was a standard Thai, and not a hiso Thai. So for this week, a sterling record for the Pattaya city " police" . First they let the lunatic ladyboy out after attempted murder on a farang by trying to drive a high heel spike into his head, and now the knife attacker is let loose as well. What the hell do you have to do to actually stay in jail here ?? Be a farang who attacks a Thai official ??
jacko45k
After the first incident this guy should have never been on the street to do it again Yes, if only in the interest of public safety. If drunk and violent, lock them up until sober and compliant. If under the influence of other substances same same. If it is a mental disorder, have him medically treated/evaluated or get relatives/family to collect him. To release him to do it again is mind-bogglingly stupid. Yes, this is indeed a great plan for the tourists and long time residents who seem to be allergic to showering but love to get drunk and be loud. Well said. Yes I get so weary of all the Thai people that make their way to Pattaya to cheat, scam, drug, and attack farangs........They should just stay in their villages. ToddinChonburi
You just can not make this crap up . You can go now and here is your knife back. WHAT THE HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about we suspend some cops on this one .
technologybytes
Sadly it would appear that this man is in need of mental health care. The police may have understood that the first time and not treated him as a criminal if (as I assume is the case) nobody was actually hurt in the first incident. Police don't really like to have to deal with people who are mentally ill, treating them as criminals is not the answer though clearly the public needs protection from this guy until he gets help.
