Recommendation for a hospital or doctor

I think I have an ear wax problem. I once had this in Mexico, and the hospital I went to didn't even have hot/warm water to treat it. Quite unpleasant, and not effective.

So I am asking for a recommendation first. I live in Roi-et, but would consider Mahasarakham too. And please, avoid places that will double or triple the price when they see me coming through the door.

I'm sure that by now the earwax problem has resolved itself one way or another, but I just wanted to put this in case it can help anyone else. I am in the Sisaket area, and had a bad impacted earwax which left me deaf in one ear for a couple of weeks. After trying every do it yourself earwax remover I finally gave up and went to the large public hospital in Sisaket. They checked me in, and sent me upstairs to the ENT area where a doctor removed it all in about 30 seconds, and enabled me to hear again. When I checked out I had to pay the bill or 150 THB. Best money I ever spent.

Always better to use either a simple home treatment of (say) olive oil - check out internet for options - or proprietary softening drops for a few days (a week if you can manage it) before going to a clinic to get your ears flushed.

With hardened wax there is always a risk (not high, but not remote either) that an over-aggressive flush will lead to a tear in the ear drum or some other introduced infection. Painful ears are .... painful+

When I was younger I would be in a hurry to go for a flush (but after a soften-up). For recent decades I have always waited for it to fall out, even if it takes a couple of weeks of softening. Guess I am more patient about having temporarily reduced hearing one side in m'dotage!

Why not go to a ear/nose/throat (ENT) specialist in Roi-et?

E.g. here:

Clinic "Aphichai".

9/14 Prempracharat rd.

Phone 043511487

As usual he is working in the hospital during the day, so be aware of the somewhat unusual opening hours.

This is the location on Google maps:

Its probably not the only ENT in Roi-et.

Price:

I can't write for Roi-et, but in our district town I visited an ENT recently.

Detailed diagnosis, suggesting alternatives for treatment.

All in good English (must admit his was the best of all doctors in the town so far, so I was lucky)

Went off with some medication.

Total about 500 Baht.

Removing ear wax should be cheaper I guess.
