what i would say is

the poster is pretty new and when he gets replies insinuating there is something creepy about asking for a young maid then who needs to loosen up.

in the main the replies have been good humoured and it's best to keep it that way.

actually, if I saw this threat a bit earlier, I might have posted similar comments. And yes, it is the uncommented word "young" in the OP that tickles the Pattaya club to come forward with not-so-serious remarks. ain't that what TV is all about?

I actuall enjoyed the read and the OP has received a qualified answer down the line and I found my excellent not-so-young maid by asking around in the neighbourhood and finally a friend of mine who also happens to be a fellow TVer has found me one with the help of his wife. The most obvous way to get maid IMHO...

thats why i have a maid. Though I am not criticizing anyone that does. Maybe Awayfoes question is based on the same requirement.

So far several people have insinuated that they have a maid, yet have no information, prehaps more information could be given like costs, experiences had etc..

Then the bell rings several times a day, and I take a look who's outside. If it looks like a maid I press my remote control, the gate opens in in walks the applicant.

I'm sitting in my terrace armchair, and I watch as the maid approaches the house, and get a good look at her on the way.

If she is under 30, this is the only look I will ever get, as Mrs Mobi is seated further down the terrace, and conducts the interviews on her own.

Young maids, sexy looking maids, maids dressed inappropriately, and maids who can't cook Issan food all get short shrift, and are swiftly escorted back up the driveway and away from my prying eyes.

Anyway, the older ones are better - less distracting for poor old Mobi.

Maybe I could send the OP one of my rejects?

So get a maid who will work 8 to 12 and 4 to 8, 6days a week. I've done that for years and means I get my afternoon kip in peace and quiet. And the maid has afternoon off to sleep, socialise, do a part time job, whatever. I eat 6.30ish too and maid tidies up and is usually away by 7pm.

On her day off, no problem. Gives me a chance to do all the cleaning she doesn't do!

Trade-in option? On a rental? You're really dreaming there. Even on a purchase I've never heard of a trade-in option, but rather you're often stuck with an expensive buy-out payment.

A young maid has many disadvantages and few advantages.

She probably does not speak English, can not cook and will leave you after a few months because she misses the boyfriend.

Believe me, go for an old one.

Instead of a maid, get yourself a missus ,

mine has got a thing about hoovers, she is only happy when she's cleaning, she works(4am-2pm), makes the beds, cooks, tidies up, ironing, washing, does my packed lunch, got her own car, she never has days off, on call for snacks 24 hours a day (okay, I do have to get me own beer from the fridge, but I do need the exercise)

She was young once, I couldnt get a trade in so I stuck with this model, it maybe getting on, but why change it if aint broken, but works well

I did get her to do the cleaning in the buff once, but she got upset when I said "whatever your wearing needs ironing" I mean how did I know she was in the buff

Well I can assure you that the rates quoted are completely correct, and anyone who pays more than 6K is overpaying.

As it happens, I have a very large house and grounds and we employ 2 maids, which increases the chances of one of them leaving.

It also happens that she didn't leave - we fired her as she was a petty thief.

The other one has been with us for a very long time and is perfectly happy - an fact they both were. We started the first one on 4.5K and over time have incremented up to 6K. I know of farangs who pay as littler as 3K per month.

We only put the sign up once, but we were also looking for a nanny for my sister in law at her home in Pattaya, so the sign stayed up along time. Hence we had many callers applying for the maid's job, even after we had hired the new one. (Live in nannies are a bit harder to find).

Does that answer you question, and deal with your dastardly insinuations?

The Mobi household are the best domestic employers in Pong, and widely saught after.

But I wouldn't send one to you if you paid me.
