American citizen living in Colombia - Thai tourist visa options

Featured Replies

Hi:

I recently moved from UAE to Colombia because I wanted to see it. I also wanted to see Thailand but I didn't take the option I had to go there because I heard it was getting not as fun as it used to be. But now I notice that the visa problems seem to have settled down a bit so I'm wondering what my options are from here in Barranquilla, Colombia where I am now. I see a lot of reference to getting a triple entry tourist visa 'from the US' but honestly I have no desire to ever go back to the US so....does anybody know if I can get a triple entry tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in Bogota? Or is there any other recommended sequence I should use to be able to stay in Thailand for about a year if I go there?

Thanks for any help..

Regards,

p.s. I'm 70 years of age but I'm not retired. I still work as an online writer.

I have no idea what is meant by "visa problems" because nothing has changed as far as I am aware

Suggest direct contact is made with the Thai Embassy in Bogata as to what visas they are prepared /able to issue.

Thanks. I'll do that. The problems I was referring to were that the Thais weren't allowing 'visa runs' any more. I know that sounds simplistic but that's what I heard. I lived in the Philippines before I went to UAE and I probably could have gone to Thailand from there, but that's why I didn't....and went to UAE instead.

Did you ever make it to Thailand? if so, I'd love to hear a comparison. I've been in Thailand for almost 3 years and I'm considering Colombia.
